Don’t fall in love with tools

Many of us get started in the industry because we love technology. We love a shiny new MacBook or iPhone, and we love well made software that unlocks possibilities that we didn’t have before. It’s ever so easy to lose sight of the fact that no matter how sexy and sweet those things are, they are just means to an end. You can have a golden hammer, you will still use it for hammering. Usually. But as to a man with a hammer, everything looks like a nail - so does to a designer with a MacBook, everything look like a software problem. But software can’t be used for hammering.
